DO YOU KNOW or REALISE ……..?

If we are correct in our understanding of the BJPC Draft Budget 2009/10.
The anticipated increase in revenue by the "POPLARS" for the year 2009/10 is only £50Documented at £8450 to £8500 Yes! we are reasonably confident that this shows only a £50 increase over this last 12 month period .
The related cost to run this facility is “misleading” stated within the above Draft Budget at a cost shown as £18500. HOWEVER this does not include any direct labour or administration cost, which we estimate may be 50% + of the wages bill + maintenance etc which will increase the Poplars cost to approx £50,000 plus
We do understand that this figure we have arrived at is believed by the several “knowledgeable and experienced individuals” whom we have consulted, is to be a realistic assessment

5) Minutes of Management Committee (?)
6) Sports Based Youth Club - proposal
7) Poplars Sports ground Review
a) STW no feed back on lease
b) Review meeting.. .. .. Recommendations: that Junior Football be charged at £300 for the use of the football pitches on a Friday Night for 16 weeks during the summer -( BJO this equates to £18.75 per week) - see also our later note ****We also understand from the BJPC website 24/06/09 that .. ..
“Friday Night is Football Night at The Poplars
Summer is here again with the Friday night Football evenings. Come down for a training session Boys ,Girls all ages - with on average 8 year groups.Pavilions Bar is open and BBQ every Friday night this summer weather permitting. Friday 22 May 2009 saw just under 400 mums dads and children and the weather wasn't even that great.” - ( At £18.75 cost of the evening this equates to a cost of only approx £0.04 per person attending)
“Cllr Clarke was also able to see 1/8th or Burton Joyce turn out for a lovely evening of sports , BBQ and Bar at the Pavilions at the Poplars
Come down for a training session Boys ,Girls all ages. With on average 8 year groups training by Chartered Status BJJFC . Come at meet a Councillor—there are normally at least 2 on duty Friday nights - Cllrs Greenfield and Cluff ?. ** ? ( is there the slightest possibility of a conflict of interest here?)**
Friday 27 June 2009 saw just under 500 mums dads and children and the weather was glorious”These events are certainly good value for money, but how does the Bar cope with a 80 max capacity and how does the BJPC benefit (do they get a %age of Bar receipts?… **
It seems to BJ Online that if the “Friday Night is Football Night at The Poplars” was more fairly subjected to a SMALL membership/attendance fee. Even at £0.50p per head this would have contributed - £250 for that one evening ( at Cllr Cluff’s attendance estimates) - to the Poplars Income - and the BJ Community
We also understand that the BJPC also allows a further 10 events thro 2009 to use the facilities of the Poplars - Free Of Charge - is this the 3 Villages Gala ? ( is there the slightest possibility of a conflict of interest here?)**
Note** these are questions, NOT insinuations
Oh? Incidentally these following items also in the draft budget may be of interest !
£57,620. for wages and Rev/NI
£4500 for contingencies ( 2 Elections?)
£5350 for Administration for Hall Hire ? ***
£2000 for BJPC 0ffice? ***
£9000 for General Maintenance
***These items appear peculiar inclusions, particularly as there is obviously space at the Poplars - there must be a some logical answers we are missing . Can anyone enlighten us ?
Conclusion : It appears to us here at BJ Online that the BJPC hire rates for the “Poplars” and other costs really do require closer scrutiny to ensure “Best Value” for the “Silent Majority”
