The Public are entitled and can see the BJPC 2008/09 Financial Accounts
at the B J Parish Council Office from 25th June to 24th July - at 135, Church Road,
Where exactly 135 Church Road ?
Well we can tell you - 135 Church Road is the Green single storey “porta-cabin” situated in the far RH corner of the BG cemetery grounds ( 100 yards or so, and not too easily seen from Church Road) and to help we have included here the photograph image.
However we should advise those who are interested in inspecting the Councils administration should either telephone or e mail the Council Clerk prior to calling in -
Inspection times are Monday

Extract from: "The Good Councillor’s Guide "-Value for money"It is essential that the council is seen to provide value for money. If you are a member of a smaller council, then the principles of Best Value, known as the four Cs still apply.
1)Challenge existing services and expenditure (Should we be doing It'? Can we do it better?)
2)Compete with other providers (Could they do It better?);
3)Compare with other councils (How do they do it?);4)Consult the users of parish council services and the wider community (How do they want us to do it?)"
It is becoming quite concerning that the BJPC official website is becoming used more
as a propaganda tool than a source for advising the community of the inner workings of the Council.
Current Issues– Negotiating Team 24/3/09
The SPC has designated Cllr S Cluff , Cllr P Blandamer, Cllr Y Greenfield and Jackie Dawn, the Parish Clerk to review the Sports contracts and agreements with all our clubs over the next month to ensure all items are covered.
Positive discussions have already been conducted with Junior Football Club, Bowls Club and Archery—meetings with Senior Football and Cricket Clubs are scheduled to take place shortly. Draft agreements are due early May for ratification by the Clubs and the Full Parish Council.
Where is an up to date posting?
Sports Ground Committee March 09
The first meeting was held with Severn Trent Water ( landlords to the leased land at Poplars) with regards to easing lease conditions to enable further revenue sources to be looked at. The meeting was described as useful and cordial and both parties are reviewing items and suggestions made A meeting withy GBC planning is due to be scheduled within a month
Where is the up date?
Poplars Sports Ground News March 09
The Sports Ground Committee has been conducting a review of the Finances of the Poplars Sports Ground in particular to increase the usage and the revenue to BJPC and therefore reduce its high levels of subsidy and has found three areas that require attention .
1. To ensure all resident clubs at the Poplars Ground have formal costed Annual Agreements at close to market rates for the services and grounds the BJPC provides. This assists the clubs in planning their futures knowing they have a secure home and helps BJPC with its Audit commitments of accountability.
2. To establish the capacity of the Grounds throughout the seasons and where unfulfilled by current clubs to engage new clubs to fill any shortfalls on a permanent or ad hoc basis.
3. Restrictions on the original Planning Approval by GBC to allow the facilities only to be used by the Sports Clubs has meant a restriction on revenue particularly for the Pavilions for external Booking hire—parties, conferences etc.
Draft Minutes of Meeting of the Poplars Sports Ground Committee
Held at the Poplars Sports Ground on 14th April 2009, 7.45pm
Poplars Sports Ground Review
Severn Trent Water– still awaiting feedback on positive meeting held with Severn Trent re conditions of lease.
Cricket Club Review meeting – it was agreed to propose to overturn the previous agreement which allowed the cricket club to sublet the facilities pending a new direct agreement with the current lessees.
Gedling Borough Council – it was agreed to defer this item re potential application for change of use to the May meeting.
Written Statement of Support – it was agreed to defer this item to the May meeting
What exactly is the Written Statement of Support ?
And MORE importantly
Why is there is NO investigation into COST SAVINGS at the POPLARS ?
Â
Finally - Is the full Council membership aware of their website content prior to posting ?
(Do all the individual Councillors actually visit their own website)
Why is it that Minutes for all BJPC meetings held in May 09 are yet to be posted online in their website. ( time ?)
Why is it that the fact that there is to be Public access to “Year End Accounts” scheduled for the 25Th June< 24 July, This is not yet published on their website (16/06/09) although it has been posted on the village notice board for several days now - Why? - is it a time element or is the website a "secondary" communication medium to be used as and when
Finally - Why is it that the BJPC unilaterally removed their half of the reciprocal link between and to our website without the full knowledge of the Council - as raised at the last BJPC meeting/Public section - and yet still has to be re-installed even though it was accepted that it was an "error"?
SO WHAT IS THE REAL AIM OF THE BJPC WEBSITE ?
 - Hopefully to inform, communicate and engage the community to assist and improve effective local administration -
We wonder.. ..
