Neighbourhood Priorities

Anti-social behaviour (Burton Joyce)

Problem: Youth related anti-social behaviour is occurring around the shopping area in Main Street, Burton Joyce and the park on Chestnut Grove.

Response: Safer Neighbourhood Officers to carry out high visibility patrols at key times. Alcohol will also be confiscated from youths and parents will be informed to discourage future behaviour

Parking and speeding issues (Lambley)

Problem: A problem was identified at the Local Area Group meeting that the main concern of local residents is that of vehicles either speeding through the village or parking illegally, within the confines of the village .

Response: The Community Speedwatch is to be employed in the Village which will be re-enforced by Neighbourhood Policing Team Officers using Speed Detection Devices in both a preventative and also enforcement role within the village. An article will be placed in the local parish magazine to advise local people accordingly.

Off road motorcycles (Stoke Bardolph)

Problem: An increase in the use of off road motorcycles in the Stoke Bardolph. The area encompasses the whole of the riverside area from the rear of Mile end Road through to Bulcote.

Response: Safer Neighbourhood Officers will carry out high visibility patrols at the key times in a bid to identify the offending riders. Powers will be used to seize illegal and uninsured bikes.

Neighbourhood Update

The current crime rate in the village areas remains low, over the past couple of weeks we have had a couple of motor vehicles stolen one in Lambley and one in Burton Joyce. Both vehicles were stolen with keys that had been left in the vehicle. A clear message should be do not leave your keys in your vehicle at all no matter how short the time you will be away from it. Stoke Bardolph continues to be crime free at present but with the coming spring and summer this area will continue to attract visitors and we all need to be vigilant.

Anti Social Behaviour is still a current issue in the middle of Burton Joyce, but the problem has subsided in recent weeks due to positive action by the local Policing team.

Lambley Village is still suffering with a number of Speeding complaints along the Main Street, the local safer neighbourhood Team have been in the Main Street area conduction Speed Checks and so far 8 motorists have been spoken to about excessive speed.
