BJPC meeting 03/11/09
The "Minute Watchdog" attended this particular meeting
What a difference! There appears to have been a welcome change in attitude and manner within the Council membership following the co-option of the 3 new Councillors a couple of months ago.
Proceedures followed design, with relevant "declarations of interest" and the relevant leaving of the Chamber whilst votes were taken.
The meeting also had a contingent of BJ Primary School children in attendance - complete with a handfull of questions and suggestions  - A most interesting and welcome development.
The most concerning impression was the unanimous "anti Wind turbine stance" of the council members, although, it was pointed out a couple of times that the Council should remain neutral until after the Publice meeting called to ascertain community opinion. However it appeared to be agreed that up to £500 was made available for Cllr Cluff to allocate to pre-meeting publicity material - this is something which the Minute Watchdog is uneasy with.
A suggestion via a e mail from a resident - that the Grove remodelling should include as opensided refuge for the elderly and handicapped i(f caught out in the rain or excessive sunlight) was considered as too expensive and not really necessary as "there is plenty of shelter available under the trees "- (not an expected response from our caring representatives )
With regard to the Poplars and activity contracts , there still appear to be an impasse with Poplars Committee's negotiations with the BJ Cricket Club - who apparently appear to be unreasonably digging in their heels over past negotiations and contracts and do not want to pay the current market rate for the use of the Poplars for their activities
Well, we shall now wait until the Official Minutes are approved and circulated, to reveal the BJPC's interpretation of the eveningÂ
