BUS PLUGS TO GO ?

“ Bus Plugs to Go” - Really?

We increasingly see a new phrase creeping into all areas of Government  -“Going to”

It now looks as though the local Parish Councillors have also succumbed to the term - it’s a phrase used to confuse the masses - for it really means very little in reality. The use of this term is a “holding exercise” to keep us all appeased, in the anticipation that something may actually happen, considered and introduced - sometime in the future. That is unless other circumstances and decisions are overtaken by time and changing circumstances . We have all experienced that one before, numerous times, “going to war“, “going to have a referendum” etc.

Now it is the  Parish Council's Online announcement “ Bus Plugs to Go- this is not strictly true read on..

BJPC Web Site - Bus Plug To Go !!!!! June 26th 2009

Newly Elected Cllr Allen Clarke from Nottinghamshire County Council meets BJPC Cllr Steve Cluff at Friday Evening Football at the Poplars and was pleased to announce the programme for the removal of the Bus Plug between Burton Joyce and Gedling

BJPC Web Site - “Bus Plug To Go Even Quicker than first thought !!!!! June 30th 2009 1.58pm

Further correspondence Cllr Allen Clarke from Nottinghamshire County Council and BJPC Cllr Steve Cluff today confirms the rapid progress of efforts to remove the Bus Plug between Burton Joyce and Gedling. Today Cllr Clarke has confirmed that NCC Highways Dept has already responded back ahead of time and given two options

1. Leave plugs on Burton Road in place during peak times. Open them during calm periods

2. Burton Road plugs open all time but not for HGV and traffic calming measures eg. raised platforms, speed restrictions put in place

There will be 4 public meetings probably in August. 2 BJ and 2 Gedling to discuss both options. They will be publicised nearer dates.

Don't forget you heard it first here.!!” ( Do they now have sound on the website ?)

It appears the BJPC has sanctioned the use of their website for the adoption of an “individual, personal” promotional style of propaganda rather than the generally accepted “collective” front, ( Is this with the present Chairman of the BJPC consent and approval ) whilst at the same time failing to keep up to date with their (Online) Committee Minutes eg the Poplar’s Sports Ground Committee minutes for Sept 08, October 08, and Nov 08 which are still not available to the community - online , plus other Committee Minutes which are way out of date by the time their sparse content is in posted online
