The National Trust is a UK charity commited to preserving and protecting over 300 historic houses and gardens and 49 industrial monuments and mills - that are all open to the public. But it doesn’t stop there. They also look after 30% of the British coastline, forests, woods, fens, beaches, farmland, downs, moorland, islands, archaeological remains, castles, nature reserves, villages - for ever, for everyone. They are a charity and therefore completely independent from Governmentm and rely on support, volunteers, membership fees, donations, legacies, and revenue raised from our commercial operations.
